Feline SAA is an acute phase protein secreted by the liver and bound to high-density lipoprotein(HDL) in plasma. SAA concentrations may increase up to 1000-fold when cats are in a state ofinflammation.
Measuring SAA concentrations can be used to detect the presence ofinflammation. In cats, SAA is not only a marker of inflammation, but also aprognostic marker of various diseases, such as diabetes and hyperthyroidism.

Feline Serum amyloid A Rapid Quantitative Test is a fluorescence immunoassay used along with Healvet 3000 analyzer for quantitative determination of fSAA concentration in feline whole blood, serum or plasma specimen. The test is used as an aid to infection inspection and the inflammatory response.
Step 1: Sample Preparation
Add 10 µL of serum or plasma sample into the buffer tube.
Mix thoroughly without forming bubbles.
Step 2: Sample Application
Transfer 75 µL of the prepared mixture into the sample well of the test card.
Step 3: Result Analysis
Insert the test card into the Healvet 3000 Analyzer with standard test mode.
Read and record the test result according to the analyzer instructions.
